The need for quality research was envisioned by the LUC. Lincoln Research Institute (LRI) created under Lincoln Education Academy of Lincoln University, Malaysia, that was established to cater to need for quality research in emerging areas. The Institute is located in the holy area of Dakhineswar (Abode of the Goddess Dakshina Kali) in the city of Kolkata. The city is proud of hosting the works of several eminent scientists and Nobel Laureates and is a place in India where research flourished since the middle of 19^th century. 

This institute is an addition to the research foundation of the city where interested scholars can conduct research in the emerging technology fields. The eminent faculties of the Research Institute will guide scholars who wish to pursue their doctoral research and will receive degree from LUC. 

LRI will provide academic support to research scholars and fellows by conducting relevant coursework on a regular basis to assist the students to update their knowledge, skills and fulfil requirements for the doctoral course. The institute will also provide Internship to deserving students and scholars. To add to the technology ecosystem, LRI is conducting short Term Courses (both Diploma and Certificate courses) on emerging technologies. The institute will also help/guide Engineering students for doing their research projects and train/help them to write research articles for reputed journals.
